The inverter is an example of a logic Bit. It sends out the opposite of whatever it receives: send it an on signal and the inverter changes it to an off signal or vice versa.
Would you like a button that turns things off instead of on? Try the inverter.
HOW IT WORKS
The inverter sends out the opposite of whatever it receives: send it an ON signal and the inverter changes it to an OFF signal or vice versa.
Anytime the inverter receives a signal lower than 50% power (2.5 volts) the inverter sends full power (5 volts) to the next Bit in the circuit.
If the inverter receives a signal greater than 2.5 volts the inverter sends 0 volts to the next Bit in the circuit.
